Divine Roots- the root of all Good
The natural tendency to root or ground down to grow up is a magnificent and useful way to understand our own ability to be happy, grow and flourish. This natural law causes trees to grow deep long complicated root systems to allow them to grow up reaching in to the sky.
In yoga we use our feet, hands or the base of the pose to root in to the earth allowing us to extend up. Attention is another way us humans root. Where we put our attention and how deep we root that attention determines how far towards our potential we will be able to grow. What is your attention on?
Our minds and bodies are our vehicle in this world. Without our mind we could not do anything. Rooting our selves in positive thought, uplifting feelings and actions assures us the strength and power to get to the places we want to go. We all want to be happy and flourish, it is natural for humans seek pleasure and avoid pain. If this is true then why are so many people in pain? We develop our minds root systems or beliefs as children, we grow out of that foundation's experience. Some, most of us have had less than perfect childhoods. This means nothing accept that we might need to uproot some of the old out dated beliefs and grow new roots in soil that will allow us to grow to our potential. If you are looking at your life right now and you feel you are not living to your potential and you are unhappy, resentful or depressed about your life than it is time to grow new roots.

We have established that we all want to be happy, and if you are not what are the thoughts you are growing out of that are producing the fruits you have today? Some examples of what I have uncovered are "I have to be unhappy to be happy," or "if I get angry enough this will change," or "if I am unhappy no one will leave me and I will feel loved." These were unconscious beliefs (thoughts) that grounded me in emotions that did not actually get me to the happiness I ultimately desired. Rooting in these beliefs gave me more of the fruits that I did not desire. On the other hand when I exposed the unless beliefs and I rooted in to the thoughts of "I choose to be happy and happiness is the way" and "I am happy even when things are seeming to not be going my way" and "When I feel good every one benefits" than I rooted in to the fertile ground of positive thoughts allowing me to achieve my intended happiness and goal instantaneously.
Wayne Dyer says "you cant get poor enough to help the poorest person on the planet" In the same way being unhappy will never make us happy. If being happy today seems far out of your reach it is time ask your self...why am I unhappy about this, what am I afraid would happen if I was not unhappy about this...... uncover your belief/root systems and then grow new roots in the fertile ground of positive thought and action.
I choose to be happy and grow happy roots, today and every day.
