pranayama breathing, communing with nature, singing a tune, meditating, practicing yoga, eating, skiing, swimming, helping others.....or what ever makes you happy, are activities when done consciously and joyfully that create a transcendental zone of peace and joy which puts the two sides of our brains, left and right, in harmony. This harmonic functioning of the two brains literally
raises our threshold to stress and lowers the effects of stress can have on our bodies allowing us to be happy and see a bigger happier picture even when life looks less than ideal. Moving towards happiness actually creates happiness or as the Zen proverb goes, " there is no way to happiness happiness is the way".
